People are starting to live in vans. I’m not kidding. Every few weeks we have new stories of people choosing to opt for #VanLife.
It’s not what you think either. These aren’t your Nick Foley losers living in a van down by the river. These are legit Engineers and Pro Athletes opting for the #VanLife instead of your traditional living establishments.
Lets take a look at some of their rigs.
We have Major League ballplayer Daniel Norris and his whip. He crams more crap into more space than any of our fellow van lifers.
We have Google Employee and his truck in the parking lot of Google. Easily the most pathetic of all the van lifers featured here. So much space, so much potential, and he just wastes it.
Tesla Engineer and his “mobile home”
A while back, I began following a fellow blogger/musician who unwittingly pioneered this #VanLife movement. His original rig was unreal. His blog can be seen here. He’s like the Christopher Columbus of #VanLife because he’s been doing this for about 5 years or so. Van on brotha!
I’d be lying if I said this didn’t give me a brilliant idea. People are coming out of college with more debt than ever. San Francisco is one of the most expensive places to live in the US.
That’s why I’ve come up with the Idea of Salsa’s Stealth Sleepers. I’d buy a fleet of about 10-25 Sprinter high roof sleeper vans and lease them out to young employees for about 1/3-1/2 the price that they’d pay for rent. I’d focus mainly on people doing internships or short term projects in the SF area. We could make a ton of money on this stuff.
The concept/design would be similar to this dudes setup:
