So by now, you know that I love junk food. Big time candy connoisseur and have been my whole life. Every time I go to the bodega I literally stand on the candy aisle for like five minutes inspecting every item before coming to my ultimate conclusion (usually peanut M&M’s).
The other day I was going through my usual candy progressions, and I came to a startling conclusion:
– One of the Greatest Candy Bars OF ALL TIME has become extinct!
You can’t even buy Take 5 bars anywhere anymore. I think they’ve completely stopped producing them. I’ve checked 5-10 other stores since and I can’t find these damn things anywhere! This is unbelievably upsetting. The Take 5 bar for you youngsters was once the hottest candy bar in existence. Here’s a real quick breakdown for those of you who have no clue what I’m barking about right now.
Level 1: chocolate
Level 2: peanut butter
Level 3 peanut
Level 4: PRETZEL
Level 5: Caramel
Now I know this sounds like a snicker bar with a pretzel added and you’re exactly right. I can call a spade a spade, but that addition was an absolute GAME CHANGER!!! Honestly, this candy bar is the GOAT.
so where did it go?
According to Wikipedia, apparently the price of cocoa butter increased about 200% between 2006-2008 and this put pressure on Hershey’s to reconsider some of their “3rd tier” products.
wait…wait…wait… 3RD TIER PRODUCT?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?
